Lydia El Bouazzati is an expert in policy positions on energy and climate issues, working with corporations, governments, and nonprofits to develop strategies for achieving policy outcomes. Her expertise comes from working for over a decade in the energy sector. In a project carried out for the UNDP, Lydia supported the project by generating knowledge and lessons from the energy projects portfolio for different thematic areas such as energy access, energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable cities, and transport. In Morocco, where Lydia was born and raised, she worked as a senior advisor to the Moroccan Governments’ Energy Senior Officials.
After finishing a master’s degree in Global Affairs from Yale University, Lydia returned to Morocco. Her interests are focused on the intersectionality of energy and poverty, energy and gender, and energy and climate change in rural areas of the developing countries.
Lydia holds a M.A. from Yale university and a MSc. in Engineering from ENSEIRB-MATMECA in France.
