Mira Al Hussein

Mira Al Hussein is an educator at Edinburgh University, where she is researching sociological themes in United Arab Emirate's higher education systems. Her research interests include de-colonial trends in historical and social narratives of the Gulf Countries. She is an advocate for women and migrant rights, and frequently hosts webinars that lends a platform to marginalized voices in the region. 

Prior to this role, Mira taught at Zayed University in Dubai. She has extensive experience in charitable contributions in the Middle East region gained from her years of work as a program manager at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation. 

Mira holds a PhD from Cambridge University, and a BA from Zayed University and a MA in International Relations from Bristol University in the UK.
